Introduction

Welcome to old Mutual Asset Managers (UK), a specialist investment manager, with a focus on high performance and absolute return investments.

We launched our first hedge fund, a global equity market neutral hedge fund, in 2001.  Today, our absolute return investments cover a diverse range of strategies and investment types to meet the different risk and return requirements of investors globally.

Our absolute return product range has continually evolved as we have responded to client demand and our growing investment capability, and now includes both single manager hedge funds and a multi asset fund.

The quality of our investment teams and their success in delivering consistently strong performance means that several of our established hedge funds have reached their initial capacity targets and are currently closed to new investment.  However, access to these funds is still available through our multi manager and multi asset fund.

Our range of absolute return funds has over $3 billion assets under management, while our total assets under management now exceed $11.5 billion (as at 31 December 2007).

Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) Limited is authorised and regulated in the UK by the Financial Services Authority and although we are independently managed, we are part of Old Mutual plc, a global financial services group with over $553 billion (as at 30 September 2007) of assets under management and a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.

Investment platform

Our investment teams are all London based and have a strong record of delivering superior risk adjusted performance across different market conditions for our investors.

We employ highly talented investment professionals who are independent thinkers.  Each of our teams employ their own proven approach in their particular investment universe and we do not restrict our investment managers and their teams with a house view or style.  Instead we give them the freedom to do what they do best - which is delivering strong risk-adjusted performance.

These teams cover quantitative strategies, discretionary equities and fixed interest. All our fund managers and investment teams employ disciplined approaches to portfolio management.  Focused research and detailed analysis are a key part of their investment processes, helping them to deliver superior risk adjusted returns.

Each of our specialist teams is backed by our independent risk management process and our operations and service platform.  This structure is designed to give each of our investment areas the freedom to focus on their portfolios, while at the same time delivering highly effective operations support and client service in a risk managed environment.
